Copilot Vision is a new name for Circle to Copilot in Microsoft Edge browser. Take a look at how you can use this feature to get assistance from Copilot AI at work.
In this tutorial, I will show you how to enable or disable Copilot Vision in Microsoft Edge browser on Windows 10 and 11 devices. With the Copilot vision feature, you can circle any content on the webpage and send that captured/selected area to Copilot.
Microsoft introduced a new feature to Edge known as Circle to Copilot. The “Circle to Copilot” feature allows you to draw a circle around an image or text on a webpage and then use Copilot to search.
The Circle to Copilot feature in Microsoft Edge has been renamed Copilot Vision in the most recent Canary versions. Currently, if you’re running a canary or dev insider build of the Edge browser, you can enable or disable the Copilot vision feature from the Edge settings.
Important: During my testing, I discovered that for the Copilot vision feature to work, you must enable the mouse gestures in the Edge settings. The Circle to Copilot relies solely on mouse gestures to function.

To use the Copilot Vision feature, you must first turn on the feature in the Edge settings. Here are the steps to that:
- Launch the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows PC.
- Click on the three horizontal dots located in the right corner and select Settings from the menu.
- On the Settings page, in the left panel, click Appearance.
- Under the section Customize Browser, look for the Copilot Vision tile and turn on the options “Enable Copilot Vision for anything on screen” and “Enable Copilot Vision on webpages in Edge.“
Configure Copilot Vision settings in Microsoft Edge
After enabling the Copilot vision in Microsoft Edge, you can configure some additional settings. In the Edge browser, browse to edge://settings/circleToCopilot. Here, you can enable or disable the settings related to Copilot Vision.
For example, the default shortcut to launch Copilot Vision on screen is Alt + Shift + S. You can modify and specify a different shortcut to launch the Copilot vision for you. Also, you can configure the mouse gesture settings for the Edge browser, which I will cover in a separate article.

How to use Circle to Copilot in Edge
Alright, once you have enabled the Copilot Vision feature in Edge, let’s see how to use Circle to Copilot feature while you’re browsing.
Launch the Edge browser and browse to any of the sites of your choice. As an example, I have opened my own website here: prajwaldesai.com. On the website, hold the right-click button of your mouse and circle a text or an image. The Circle to Copilot feature is activated and the selected text or image is sent to Copilot in the sidebar.
When you select an image with the Circle as Copilot feature, you may ask a question related to that image. For example, after selecting a text or image, you can ask the copilot to describe it or inquire as to what it represents.
The Copilot AI responds to your query and provides an answer. For example, I selected the text “Prajwal Desai” using Circle with Copilot and here is the response that I got.
